The first Progress Meeting of the St3TART project was held on 10 November 2021 by videoconference and gathered ESA and all the St3TART partners. The thematic leaders for each surface (hydrology, sea ice and land ice) presented the state of the art analyses that were performed by the thematic teams in order to identify the standard FRM protocols and procedures, as well as the main challenges, for the validation of the Copernicus Sentinel-3 STM Calval activities on land surfaces using ground measurements.

A specific focus was also made on the metrology workshops organized by NPL with the partners of the project to help define the uncertainties to be associated with the FRM data.
